President Elect Obama’s Stepmother Bingos for Charity
The Telegraph has reported that President of the United States Elect Barack Obama’s British stepmother has joined forces with Gala Bingo to raise money for the Sue Ryder Care charity. Kezia Obama will be launching the Mrs. Obama’s Online Bingo Game on the Gala Bingo site and the game will raise money for the charity. The new game went live on the Gala Bingo website on January 14th and will remain on the site until January 23rd. the goal is to raise £1 million for the Sue Ryder Care charity, which helps people who have Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s. 10p from every £1 spent on the game will go to the charity.
Kezia Obama has a unique connection to the President Elect, Barack Obama. Kezia married Barack Obama Senior in 1957 in Kenya. In 1959 Mr. Obama left his wife to move to Hawaii to pursue a teaching career. While in Hawaii, Mr. Obama married Ann Dunham, the mother of Barack Obama. The Senior Obama went on to divorce Ann Dunham in 1964 and marry again later on.
Kezia commented on her endeavors: “I am delighted to help Gala Bingo raise funds for the Sue Ryder Care charity. It is a really positive way of celebrating Barack’s inauguration.”
