Susan Williams recently moved to the Torguay, Devon area and was unfamiliar with what to do for recreation. A friend suggested they take a trip to the local bingo hall. That trip resulted in Williams winning the almost 47,000 jackpot.

Williams had never played online bingo or traditional bingo so her win is really incredible or just plain lucky. Williams had decided to try it as she had nothing else planned. She was playing at the Gala Bingo hall and the game was High 5 jackpot.

Williams stated that the speed of the game was so fast she did not even know she had won. “Because I had never played before, Sue was looking after me. It’s such a fast game. Sue’s hand went up even before mine. She was saying I had won but I didn’t realize how much. At first I thought it was about 5,000 but when I was told I thought ‘Crikey, what are they talking about’ and I went a bit peculiar. Then a brandy suddenly appeared.”

Ms. Williams is retired so she is unsure what she will do with her winnings. She does need a new mobile phone so she stated she would replace that. The assistant manager of the Gala Bingo hall, Wilma Stamp, stated: “everybody in the club was clapping and cheering, it was absolutely electric. It’s been fantastic at the Gala ever since High 5 was introduced-this is a massive win and she’s a local lass.”
