Mikey Hughes is known for barely losing in the Big Brother television show last year to fellow competitor Rachel. Hughes gained a large following while on Big Brother 9 and he now will use this fame to make money for charity.

Hughes was asked to play bingo with students from James Watt in Killwinning, where Hughes lives. The goal of the games was to raise money for the North Ayrshire Cancer Care Foundation. So Hughes spent the day hosting the charity game and calling the bingo numbers.

He also talked to students and posed for photos. It was three local accounting students from the college who organized the event and one of the students commented on the event stating: “Mickey carried out the job of bingo caller very professionally and with a great sense of humor. He also interacted very well with the students who had a great affinity with him and happily posed for photographs and signed autographs. All in all it was a very successful event and we were delighted with the amount of money raised for North Ayrshire Cancer Care, which is run entirely by volunteers and provides an amazing service to cancer patients, their families and their carers.”
