England Unveils Its First Electronic Bingo Hall
By: TJ GillThe Riva Gaming Group has introduced a revolutionary new product to the U.K. Earlier this week, the company launched its first electronic bingo hall in the town of Sutton. Instead of traditional cards and bingo callers, the Riva Sutton bingo club will run its games with the assistance of 600 electronic gaming machines. The new terminals will even allow patrons to play bingo while smoking, which was something not typically allowed in a regular bingo hall.
The whole process is being done on a test basis at the moment. Depending on how the Sutton trial pans out, Riva Gaming might then decide on whether or not they want to expand the operation into more cities across the U.K. Company CEO Simon Hannah is very optimistic, saying that the club’s opening couple of days has more than "exceeded expectations." The club has maintained a solid player base and is also bringing in many new customers who are curious to see what the club is all about.
If all goes well, the U.K. could see a new wave of technology showing up in area gaming establishments like the one in Sutton. With Riva being one of the U.K.'s top electronic games providers, there is little doubt that their current operations couldn't succeed in other places around the country.
