Christmas Brings Big National Bingo Win
Christmas had some magic for JCB driver Barry Darbyshire as he became the third winner at the Mecca Club when he won the Christmas Eve national bingo game. Barry has just now went public with the information as the 52 year old just went to play a few games with his wife. Surprised at how much he won, Darbyshire said, "I didn't realize how many numbers had been called – I thought it was more. My wife was very shocked and started crying!"
His biggest win before this was just £500 even though the couple had been playing for a long time. They still find time to play about 2-3 times a week.
Beating players in a combined 470 clubs, Barry won £17,500 plus the house prize of £67 playing the Bingo Game Afternoon Delight Game. He completed a full house in just 14 numbers.
After enjoyning a fine Christmas, Barry claims, "We have a few ideas on what to do with the money but haven't decided definitely yet. But we will do something good with it."
The players at the Wrexham Mecca Club have been on a roll as of late. On December 18th a man won £5,800 on a national game, the next day another man won £17,500 playing the Afternoon Delight Game and now you can add Barry Darbyshire to that list.
The clubs GM, Bryan Tyrrell says, "It is fantastic that customers can win such amounts of money at one of our afternoon sessions. There is always a great atmosphere when someone wins big money."
