It seems like every type of game has a superstition about changing seats, for this Comet country grandmother, a seat change brought a very good change in luck.

This 67 year old woman, who doesn’t want to be indentified, was playing bingo at the Mecca Club in Stevenage when she says a change in seats helped her win more than £22,000.

In her words, "My friend and I usually sit in the same seat every week but because we hadn't had any luck for a long time we decided to move and sit at the opposite end of the club,” she then added, “ And then we won. It was such a shock. I couldn't believe it."

The widow has been a member of the club for the past ten years.

It was during her weekly bingo game last Thursday when she hit the £45,000 National Bingo Game prize and the house prize of £125.

The house prize she got but the National Bingo Game prize she had to share with another player who completed a full house in 45 numbers which was the lowest call in any of the clubs playing across the country. Her share was the £22,000.

She plans on treating her friend, three children and seven grandchildren with some of the money and for herself?

"I might buy myself a laptop in the January sales," she said. "The rest will then be saved for holidays and things I may need in my home.
