Carlton Clubs are a land based bingo operator and they have reportedly sold two of their bingo halls in Edinburgh and Grangemouth. The price that was reported for the sales of both bingo halls was £1.35 million.

The Destiny Church bought the Tivoli Bingo Hall on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh for £900,000. While Cabri bought the other bingo hall this one on Station Road, Grangemouth for £450,000.

"The Edinburgh deal reflects the fact that modern day automated bingo now require more contemporary premises", said Surveyer Simon Bashford. The UK land based bingo has been going through crisis times as of late due to the new no smoking ban and a new double tax regime.

Online bingo games and halls however are continuing to flourish and have seen a rise in their members as land based players are now staying in.
