The woman, who remains anonymous, is a care giver and she had just taken her patient to a local Gala Bingo hall for a day out. The woman was working so she did not feel it was appropriate to play bingo but eventually gave in to the game. She bought a 2.50 ticket for a High Five Bingo game.

The woman must have been lucky that day because her ticket won her 302,000 Euros! What is even more amazing is that with the High Five game, other participants win money for her win as well. Two hundred and thirty nine players were awarded a piece of 302,000 as well.

When the jackpot is won on High Five, the prize is repeated and divided among the other players in the game. In this case, the other players took home 1,265 Euros. The assistant manager of the bingo hall, Paul Morgan, commented on the win: “Everything went quiet for a minute and then the whole place erupted. The winner was sitting right at the back of the hall and she couldn’t move from her seat for about twenty minutes. She was trembling and couldn’t talk. We tried to give her a drink but she couldn’t pick up the glass.”
