A Humble $11 Million Winner
Dennis Halliday from a little village of Peers is $11 million richer. The 67 year old trucker was standing with his wife at the Alberta Liquor and Gaming Commission as the media gathered to document the latest Lotto 6/49 winner.

"She's so special to me for 45 years," Halliday said. "Money doesn't mean anything compared to what this lady means to me."

Humbly standing in a pair of dungarees, a plaid shirt and suspenders he talked proudly about what his family meant to him with tears in his eyes.

Halliday said, "My family is No. 1 and I'll make sure of that no matter what happens," "I'm going to make sure it (the money) doesn't change a thing."

Arriving at the ceremony in a black stretch limousine, he proved how close his family was with about a dozen members including kids, grandchildren and in-laws.

He stated that the money will be used to help out his three children and his grandchildren but was very clear that the whole family will get to be involved in what to do with all the money. There is one indulgence though for Dennis and his wife, a 45 foot trailer to go "rocking and rolling down the road" with.
