California Could Possibly Legalize Televised Bingo
This past Monday, law officials in California came together with the Catholic Church and Tribes in the area to create a compromised agreement about bingo. Amendments were added to the Senate Bill 1369 that would allow a major growth of conventional bingo in the State but outlaw electronic versions of bingo. Bingo Hearing Scheduled for Next Month in Arkansas
Next month a hearing will take place in the state capitol of Arkansas to discuss a state tax on charitable bingo games. During the hearing public testimony will be heard on why the state should eliminate the state tax. This past Friday, the Legislative Council approved requests for studies to be held on the elimination of the bingo tax. (18/08)
Mecca Bingo Employees take to the Skies for Charity
The sky is definitely not the limit for employees of Mecca Bingo. The Bingo Company is set to take part in a simultaneous sky diving jump all across the country this September in the name of charity. Mecca Bingo has already begun taking donations to help fund the Whizz Kidz Charity with a pledge to raise at the very least £250,000 by the end of this year. (15/08)
Bingo Resolution to be amended by Etowah County Commission
On July 7th of this year, The Etowah County Commission passed a resolution that gave the Commission the power to issue video bingo permits for two years. The pastor of Cross Point Community Church in Etowah County objected to this decision. Reverend Bruce Word spoke about his objections during a meeting on August 5th. (13/08)
