Sunday was a big day for a 69 year old Norwich woman after she claimed a £150,000 jackpot prize in the national draw. She was playing at 6the at the Mecca Bingo hall and this was the biggest win in her clubs history.

Her win came versus thousands of players playing in a free bingo game across 103 venues. The woman was obviously quite stunned with the win as the crowd at the club erupted into cheers as the two line win was confirmed.

Playing up to 6 times a week regularly at the club, the woman would not like to be indentified but has claimed she will use the jackpot to pay off her mortgage and share it with her daughter who occasionally will play with her.

John Roche who is the new general manager of Mecca Bingo said,

"It was quite a quiet afternoon session, and because we are just a small club everyone thinks it's not going to be us who wins.”

He added, “But when the lady here won it was amazing, the whole place went into uproar. She was more nervous than anything but it was an absolutely tremendous atmosphere.”

Her fellow bingo regulars were also very happy for her.

Irene Davison said, “I think that's brilliant, her getting all that money here. I've been going to bingo for 50 years and I've never been when someone's won that much.”

“That's the biggest amount I've ever heard of. The most I've won in £100. £150,000 is a very nice amount to win. I think it would change your life,” added Pat Gough.
